Deplatt 75 mg is a prescription medicine that helps prevent platelets from sticking together and creating a clot that can block an artery. Platelets are blood cells that help in the normal clotting of blood. This drug is also used to treat the complications of the circulatory system and reduces the high risk of heart attacks, strokes and angina. The active ingredient Clopidogrel works by delaying or completely blocking the platelets to form aggregation. It prevents the narrowing and hardening of the arteries, ultimately leading to excessive bleeding conditions. Clopidogrel is also used to treat unstable angina or chest pain. Clopidogrel can be used along with Aspirin to treat acute phase coronary artery disease.
Deplatt 75 mg is available as a tablet, making it easier to consume orally with sufficient water. Completely swallow this medicine with water. Do not chew it. The recommended dose of this drug in adults is 75 mg once daily to be consumed with sufficient water. This drug can be given with or without food. The dose should be adjusted per the patient's response to the drug under the supervision of your doctor. Report to your doctor after a regular time interval of 3 to 4 weeks.
Do not take Deplatt 75 mg in the following conditions:
  — Allergic reactions
  — Angioedema
  — Active bleeding in people with peptic ulcers and haemorrhage
You should give the doctor all the relevant information related to your medical background. Deplatt 75 mg has been reported to cause severe hypersensitive reactions in some cases. Please consult your doctor before taking Deplatt tablets along with other medications. This may lead to allergic reactions and other severe complications. Avoid using Clopidogrel without informing your doctor if you have severe liver problems. Clopidogrel can interfere with the normal functioning of certain liver enzymes like CYP2C19. Avoid consuming Clopidogrel along with medications that act as proton pump inhibitors. These drugs severely reduce the antiplatelet activity of Clopidogrel.
Deplatt 75 mg is known to interact with the action of the following drugs:
  — Ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir/dasabuvir –can decrease the metabolism
  — Antithrombinalfa– can cause life-threatening interactions
  — Aspirin rectal –can increase the effect of Clopidogrel and lead to death
  — Cimetidine –can decrease the effect of Clopidogrel by increasing the liver enzyme CYP2C19
  — Clarithromycin –can affect the function of Clopidogrel by interfering with the levels of liver and intestinal enzymes
  — Erythromycin -can affect the function of Clopidogrel by interfering with the levels of liver and intestinal enzymes
Most side effects of deplatt 75 mg do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Talk to your doctor if they persist or are concerned about them. Common side effects associated with the use of Clopidogrel are nosebleeds, abdominal pain, bruises, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal bleeding, and increased bleeding tendency.
