Metrogyl gel is an antibiotic cream that is used to treat acne and skin infections. It helps reduce pimples, and the gel stops the bacteria from further growing, which helps to reduce pimples and other skin infections. It helps in the treatment of rosacea (a type of adult acne). It helps in the reduction of redness, swelling and the number of pimples caused by rosacea. It is used to treat bacterial and parasitic infections both.
Metrogly gel kills the bacteria by damaging their DNA and reduces the symptoms of acne and pimple.
This medicine is for external use only. Wash and dry the area where you want to apply this gel. After waiting for 15 minutes, apply the gel to the area to be treated. Apply a thin layer of gel once or twice or as prescribed by the physicians. If you have to apply any other cosmetics, do wait for five minutes after applying the gel. Avoid using this gel near-eye as it may irritate. The medicine can be used regularly for the most benefit and use each day simultaneously. The medicine takes some time to show results. It takes around 3 to 9 weeks for full benefit. Consult your doctor for better results.
- If you are allergic to antibiotics such as tinidazole or other ingredients in this product, inform your doctor before using this gel.
- Avoid using the gel during the pregnancy, but if it is necessary, consult your doctor for proper dosage and duration of use.
- Don't use this gel if you are breastfeeding, as this gel passes into the breast milk.
There are not many side effects of the gel as your body gets adjusted and uses it in the dose as advised by your doctor. Consult your doctor for the direction of use. There are some minor side effects of this gel, and they are as follows-
- dryness in mouth
- metallic taste
- skin irritation
These symptoms disappear in a few days, but consult your doctor if these symptoms persist for more than a few days.
Some rare serious allergic reactions include rash, tongue swelling, face or throat, severe dizziness and trouble breathing. If any of the symptoms appear, consult your doctor as soon as possible.
