Tugain 5% solution is a topical medicine used to treat common hereditary hair loss in adult men. It is effective as a topical treatment for male pattern baldness. The hair solution has Minoxidil which stimulates hair growth in individuals with early and moderate stages of androgenic alopecia. It may not work for men with frontal baldness or a receding hairline. Minoxidil follows a mechanism that involves the stimulation of hair follicles. This stimulation and prolongation of the growth phase and the hair follicle size prevent premature entry into the resting phase. The active ingredient also increases the diameter of the hair shaft. The product is for external use only. It should only be used under the supervision of a doctor.
Apply Tugain 5% hair solution on clean and dry skin. Use 1 ml of the product twice daily at 12-hour intervals to the scalp. Begin applying the solution at the centre of the affected area and spreading the solution to cover the affected area. Make sure you do not exceed 2 ml of usage. For best results, allow the topical solution to remain on the scalp for up to four hours after washing. If you prefer applying it at night, be sure to apply 2 to 4 hours before going to bed to allow the solution to dry out. Massage the solution into the scalp properly. Don't use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process, as it may decrease the solution's effectiveness. Do not mix this medicated hair solution with any hair oil. Make sure you do not apply the product more than twice daily and do not apply it to any other part of the body to reduce the risk of unwanted hair growth. More frequent use or long-term usage does not affect hair growth. If you miss a regular application, you should continue with the next application as directed by your dermatologist. Wash your hands immediately if you use your fingertips to apply the topical solution. According to clinical evidence, twice-daily, it takes up to four months or more before seeing hair growth. To stop hair fall, minoxidil solution should be used for not less than 45 days. Discontinue treatment if there is no evidence for improvement with the twice-daily application.
Tugain 5% solution should not be used by people under the age of 18 or over 65. Patients with a history of allergies to minoxidil or any product ingredients should not use Tugain 5%. Avoid using this hair solution on a shaved scalp, on red, inflamed, or painful skin.
Do not use Minoxidil hair solution with other topical agents such as tretinoin, corticosteroids, petroleum jelly, or dithranol, as they could result in enhanced absorption of minoxidil.
Most side effects of Tugain 5% do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the topical preparation. Speak to your doctor if you they persist for a longer duration or becomes troublesome. Common side effects of Tugain solution are itching and skin irritation.
