Metolar XR 50 mg belongs to a group of drugs known as beta-blockers. The class of medication treats a wide range of medical conditions. These include:
- high blood pressure
- irregular heart rhythm
- a tight chest pain caused by insufficient flow of oxygen to the heart
- palpitations due to non-organic heart disorders
- stable heart failure with symptoms such as shortness of breath or swollen ankles

Always take Metolar extended-release capsule as your doctor. Take the tablet once daily with a glass of water. Common side effects of Metolar extended-release capsule50 mg are hypotension, first-degree heart block, dizziness, depression, confusion, central nervous system, bradycardia, rash, psoriasis, libido decreased, diarrhoea, fatigue, and claudication. Excess use of Metoprolol XR 50 mg capsule may cause decreased heart rate, low blood pressure and oxygen levels. If you have too many of these capsules, contact your doctor to get immediate medical help.
