Metolar 50 contains Metoprolol Succinate, a beta-adrenergic receptor blocker that widely used as an anti-hypertensive medicine. It prevents chest pain and improves the survival of a heart attack. It relaxes the blood vessels and reduces the blood pressure & heart rate. The medicines come in the form of a capsule that you must swallow with one glass full of water. Do not open or chew the capsule shell. Always take the drug as prescribed by the doctor.
Always take the dose as prescribed by the doctor. It is particularly important to consume your anti-hypertensive agent timely. The doctor decides the dose of Metoprolol after assessing so many factors like age, gender and health status. With time, dose adjustments are generally made according to the response of the patient. The common side effects of Metolar 50 are diarrhea, constipation, headache, lightheadedness, trouble sleeping, muscle aches, nausea, abdominal pain. some serious side effects which need medical attention are hives, itching and skin rashes, swelling of the mouth, face, lips and tongue, fainting, hallucinations, mood swings, lightheadedness, wheezing, vision-related problems, yellowing of skin and eyes
