Lametec 25 mg may either be used alone or other medicines to treat seizures in people aged two years or older. It is equally effective for patients with bipolar disorder. Your doctor may prescribe it as a maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder to delay mood episodes in people in adults treated for acute mood episodes with standard therapy. The medicine contains the active ingredient Lamotrigine, which is categorized under the class of drugs-anticonvulsants. If you may be given Lamotrigine to help prevent extreme mood swings, you may not experience the full effects of the medicine for several weeks. The symptoms of bipolar disorder thoughts of harming yourself or committing suicide. Inform your doctor straight away if you have any distressing thoughts you experience, especially during the initial days of the treatment. Also, speak to your doctor immediately if you experience any worsening of your condition or develop any new symptoms during the treatment. You must not take Lamotrigine if you had an allergic reaction to it.

It is important to take Lametec 25 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may increase your dose if needed. It may take several weeks to months before your doctor can determine the final dose. Take the tablet with enough water. Chewing the tablet may leave a very bitter taste in your mouth. Do not increase the dose or take more Lamotrigine tablet without your doctor’s permission. Speak to your doctor if you wish to stop treatment for any reason. Also, do not restart without having words with your doctor. Let your doctor know if you use other prescription, non-prescription medicines, including vitamins and herbal supplements. Exercise caution before driving a car or operating complex machinery. If you have epilepsy, tell your doctor if your condition worsens or develops any new type of seizures.

People who take Lametec 25 mg tolerate it well. Common side effects of this anti-convulsant medicine include sleepiness, blurred vision, lack of coordination, vomiting, sleepiness, lack of coordination, insomnia, rash, etc. Although most patients who develop a rash while receiving Lamotrigine have mild to moderate symptoms, some people develop a serious skin reaction that requires immediate hospitalization. These serious skin complications are more likely to occur within the first eight weeks of treatment with anti-convulsant medicine. The effects of Lamotrigine during pregnancy are not known; however, it is extremely important to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. The anti-convulsant medication may pass into and affect the infant. However, the medicine’s effect is still unknown, so be sure to discuss with your doctor to determine if you should continue taking the tablet while you breastfeed your baby.  

Most people who take Lametec 25 mg experience dizziness, sickness, shaking or tremors, drowsiness, aggression, difficulty sleeping, dry mouth, tiredness, diarrhoea, and pain in your back.
