The active substance in Ropark 0.25 mg is Ropinirole, which is categorized under the drug class dopamine agonists. Medicines belonging to this drug class, including Ropark, are believed to affect the brain similarly to a natural substance called dopamine. Ropinirole is useful in treating Parkinson’s disease. People suffering from this brain disorder tend to have low dopamine levels in some parts of the brains. Ropinirole acts similarly to the natural substance dopamine, therefore reducing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The medicine is also effective in treating the symptoms of moderate to severe idiopathic restless legs syndrome. The symptoms are moderate to severe in patients who have difficulty sleeping or severe discomfort in their legs or arms. Patients dealing with restless legs syndrome often have an irresistible urge to move the legs and occasionally the arms accompanied by uncomfortable sensations such as burning, tingling, or prickling. Daily intake relieves the discomfort in the legs and reduces the urge to move the limbs that disrupt your sleep.

Always take medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure about the medicine’s correct usage. You may be given Ropinirole to treat the symptoms of your Parkinson’s disease or Restless legs syndrome. Your doctor may prescribe Ropinirole formulation as well as another medicine called Levodopa. The medicine is not suitable for children. The medicine is not normally given to patients under 18 years of age. Swallow the tablet with enough water. Make sure you do not chew or crush the tablet.

Do not take Ropark 0.25 mg if you are allergic to ropinirole or any other medicine ingredients. You must not take the drug if you have serious kidney disease or have liver disease. Talk to your doctor when you decide to take Ropark tablets. Medicines are not always suitable for everyone; therefore, a doctor’s consultation is a must. Inform your doctor if you have any serious heart complaint, mental health problem, pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your doctor will then decide if the medication is safe for you or not. Inform your doctor if you and your family notices you are developing urges to behave unusually. The medicine can make you feel drowsy. People receiving anti-parkinson’s therapy sometimes fall asleep very suddenly without warning. This is more common in people with Parkinson’s disease. If this is the condition with you, avoid driving or operate machinery that requires you to alert. After stopping the medication, tell your doctor if you experience symptoms such as anxiety, depression, sweating, fatigue, or pain after reducing or stopping Ropinirole treatment. If the problems persist for more than a few weeks, your doctor may need to adjust the medicine.

Common side effects of Ropark 0.25 mg include feeling drowsy, fainting, feeling sick, and uncontrollable movements. Other common side effects of the anti-parkinonian drug are a spinning sensation, hallucinations, abdominal pain, nervousness, swelling o the legs, feet or hands, heartburn, fatigue, or worsening of restless legs syndrome. Inform your doctor about your unusual behaviour.
