Description

SKU 1150
US Brand Name Retin A Gel
Strength 0.1% (20gm)
Generic Name Tretinoin Gel USP
Manufacturer AKUMS DRUGS & PHARMACEUTICALS LTD, INDIA

A Ret Gel, 0.1% 20gm, is one of the most preferred topical drugs in mild to moderate acne treatment. It has Tretinoin as the active ingredient, which belongs to the class of Retinoids. Tretinoin improves pigmentation by speeding up the elimination of melanin in the dermis. It also increases collagen levels in the skin cells and improves fine wrinkles. It does not, however, affect deep converges formed on the skin and ice pick scars. This medicine all improves the overall quality of the skin. Tretinoin, an active ingredient of the medicine, is a very active exfoliator that accelerates the skin cycle. The medicine is amazingly effective for whiteheads and blackheads, but it takes at least months to see a noticeable difference in the appearance of acne.

Apply Retin A 0.1% in a thin layer at night. Wash your face with a mild cleanser to help reduce noticeable flaking. After washing your face, apply a good quality water-based moisturizer. The moisturizer will minimize the drying effects of the medicine. If flaking occurs during the daytime, apply some more moisturizer to make the medicine's drying effect more tolerable. The topical formulation makes you more susceptible to sunburn. Add sunscreen of at least SPF 30 whenever you step out in the sun, even for a short time. People using A ret gel typically use the formulation over months before seeing significant changes. Initially, it can make your acne worse before the acne improves.

A Ret Gel 0.1% makes you more susceptible to sunburn. If you get sunburn, do not use the gel on sunburn skin. Wait until you recover from sunburn completely before you begin using it again. Also, Tretinoin may negatively interact with other topical medications, especially those containing resorcinol, salicylic acid, or sulfur. To avoid interactions, make sure to tell your dermatologist about all the medications, including those you get either over the counter and as a prescription treatment. There is some risk in using Tretinoin during pregnancy; therefore, avoid using it during pregnancy. Speak to your dermatologist if you are pregnant or are planning to conceive. Caution should be exercised when musing Tretinoin during breastfeeding.

The side effects are more common in people with sensitive skin. Commonly reported ones to include redness, blistered, crusty skin, stinging, itching, dryness, burning, irritation, or skin peeling. Let your dermatologist know if you experience any of these side effects. You may discontinue treatment if they become troublesome or persist for a longer duration. Finally, a small Retin A user may experience allergic reactions to the medications, resulting in severe rashes, itching, swelling, dizziness, and trouble breathing. However, these side effects are very uncommon and require immediate medical attention. Severe side effects associated with the use of Tretinoin are every uncommon. Minor side effects are temporary and resolve on their own with the regular use of a facial moisturizer.

A brilliant product if used wisely and correctly. Do not use without educating yourself first on how it works and how you have to start out gradually and pace its use.

I have been using RetinA since I was 15, I am now 40. It has been the only product that consistently keeps my skin clear and heals anything that does come thru. I started with the middle dose for a numbers of years and only the last 10 years I have moved up to the .1% and I love it even more. But I use sunscreen religiously ever single day nomatter what.
