Metolar extended-release capsule is a prescription medicine used to treat hypertension alone or in combination with other blood pressure lowering drugs. It is equally effective in managing angina pectoris to treat stable symptomatic heart failure of ischemic. The extended-release tablet has been formulated to provide a controlled release of the active substance Metoprolol succinate for once-daily administration. Metoprolol relieves tight chest pain caused by insufficient oxygen to the heart and improves irregular heart rhythm. The extended-release capsule treats stable heart failure with symptoms including shortness of breath, swollen ankles when used together with other medicines for heart failure. The medicine can also prevent further attacks or damage to the heart after a heart attack.
