Description

SKU 633
US Brand Name Lotemax
Strength Eye drop of 5 ml
Generic Name Loteprednol

Lotepred eye drop is prescribed for treating swelling and redness in the eyes caused by allergy or infection. The topical formulation prevents the release of body substances that cause inflammation; it relieves eye redness, itchiness and soreness. Lotepred contains the active ingredient Loteprednol, a corticosteroid.

Use Lotepred eye drops only as directed by your ophthalmologist. Do not use it for longer than the prescribed period. Doing so may increase your risk of side effects. Do not touch the dropper’s tip to your eye or to any surface to avoid contaminating this eye formulation. Hold the dropper near your eye without touching it. Gently squeeze it, and instil a formulation inside the lower eyelid.

Wait 5 to 10 minutes before using the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. You may experience a mild stinging sensation for 1 to 2 minutes. Inform your ophthalmologist if it persists for longer. If you wear lenses, remove them before using the eye drop and wait for at least fifteen minutes before wearing them again. Make sure you use the product within four weeks of opening the bottle. Use this eye drop as prescribed to achieve the most, and complete the course even if symptoms resolve after a few days. Stopping the medication too soon may increase the chance of bacteria growth, which may result in the recurrence of the infection.

Before using Lotepred eye drops, tell your ophthalmologist if you are allergic to loteprednol or have other allergies. Before using this eye medication, tell your ophthalmologist your medical history, especially of eye infections, glaucoma, cataracts, severe near-sightedness, and diabetes. After you apply the eye drop, your vision may become temporarily blurred. Avoid driving, using machinery, or doing any physical activity that requires clear vision until you are sure you are performing such activities safely.

If you develop a new eye infection or injury requiring eye surgery, ask your ophthalmologist if you should continue using the current bottle of Lotepred eye drops or start a new one. To help your ophthalmologist give you the best care, tell your ophthalmologist about all the products you use (including prescription and non-prescription drugs and herbal products).

Common side effects of Loteprednol eye drops 5 ml are dry eye, foreign body sensation, headache, eye discharge, corneal defect, teary eyes, eye itching, eye discomfort, and increased intraocular pressure.
