Corbis 5 mg is widely used as an antihypertensive medicine. It is effective in treating hypertension, chest pain, and heart attack. The medication is often prescribed as a secondary prevention of heart attack. It prevents chest pain and improves survival of a heart attack. It contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which belongs to a class of medications known as beta blockers. It causes relaxation of the blood vessels and reduces the blood pressure and heart rate. Beta-blockers are the drugs that target beta receptors present mainly in the heart, airways, arteries, smooth muscles, and kidneys. They decrease the heart's workload, help to beat more regularly, and control mild to moderate high blood pressure.

The general recommended dose is 5 mg for hypertension patients. In the case of congestive heart failure, the initial dose starts from 1.25 mg. You must swallow the whole tablet with one glass full of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Depending on the patient's condition and demand, the dose can be increased or decreased. With time, dose adjustments are generally done according to the patient's response. Abrupt discontinuation of medicine can cause adverse reactions. So before stopping the drug intake, always consult a health care provider first.

Do not take Corbis 5 mg if you are allergic to bisoprolol or any other ingredients of this formulation. Avoid taking this medication if you have severe asthma, severe chronic lung disease, very low blood pressure, severe blood circulation, slow or irregular heartbeat, severe blood circulation problems, heart problems that suddenly become worse, cardiogenic shock (an acute serious heart condition), metabolic acidosis (have excessive acid in the bloodstream), and untreated phaeochromocytoma (a rare tumor of the adrenal gland, and thyroid problem.

It is recommended to begin with the lowest possible dose. The medication will usually be used for long-term treatment. Bisoprolol tablets may make you feel tired or drowsy. If you suffer from these side effects, do not operate heavy machines. Be aware of the possibility of these effects, particularly at the beginning of the treatment, with changes in medicines and with use in combination with alcohol.

Bisoprolol is not recommended for use in children or adolescents. Generally, dose adjustment is required.

Common side effects of Corbis 200 mg are feeling weak, headache, dizziness, tiredness, and low blood pressure, especially in patients with heart failure, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation. Seek immediate medical help to prevent serious reactions if a side effect is severe. The most serious side effects are associated with heart function. These include slowing of heart rate, worsening of heart failure, irregular heartbeat, and worsening of symptoms of blockage of the main blood vessels to the legs, especially at the start of the treatment.
