Aerocort Forte Rotacaps is a prescription treatment for patients with asthma once the need for inhaled corticosteroid and bronchodilator therapy has been established. It is for inhalation use only through the Cipla Rotahaler. The medication also helps shorten or reverse an acute attack of shortness of breath. It combines two active ingredients, namely Levosalbutamol and beclomethasone. Both work by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widening airways, which makes breathing easier.Â
The correct dosage depends on the patient’s age, gender, and medical history. Individual symptoms also determine the right dosage.  Â
It should be used three or four times daily for adults and adolescents. Rotacaps are capsules of powdered medication which are placed in Rotahaler. A Rotahaler is a device that releases medication from the Rotahaler. When inhaled correctly, the medicine has a better chance of reaching the small airways. This increases the effectiveness of the medicine. Aerocort Forte Rotacaps may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol. It is important to use the device correctly to receive good medicine.
Aerocort Forte Rotacaps should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation. Reactions with Levosalbutamol have included rash, bronchospasm, angioedema, urticaria, and oropharyngeal edema. Â
Aerocort forte Rotacaps are not recommended for acute attacks for routine long-term management; some asthma patients will require a separate inhaler to relieve symptoms associated with acute bronchospasm. Â Â
Levosalbutamol can produce paradoxical bronchospasm and may be harmful. If paradoxical bronchospasm occurs, Levosalbutamol should be stopped immediately, and alternative therapy should be considered.   Â
Asthma may worsen over hours or chronically over several days or longer. If the patient requires more doses of Levosalbutamol than usual, this could indicate destabilization of asthma and requires a re-evaluation of the patient and dosing regimen.
The combination asthma medicine should not be used with any of the following medications:
- — Beta-blockers
- — Digoxin
- — Diuretics
- — Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
- — Beclomethasone dipropionate

The effect of Levosalbutamol and beclomethasone has not been established in the following situations:
     — Patients with renal impairment
    — Patients with kidney insufficiency
    — Pregnancy
    — Lactating women
    — Geriatric patients.
Common side effects of Aerocort Forte Rotacaps in adults and adolescents were dizziness, pain, asthma, rhinitis, and pharyngitis. Potentially serious hypokalaemia may result from beta2-agonist therapy.
