Oxybutynin is the main ingredient in the Tropan XL 5 mg; it belongs to the category of medications known as Vasoselective. Tropan is prescribed to treat overactive bladder conditions. It helps reduce muscular spasms in the urinary bladder and tract. It is used to treat symptoms of frequent urination, urgent urination, inability to hold urination, and nighttime leaks.

Tropan is an anti-muscarinic drug that works by relaxing muscles of the urinary bladder and preventing uncontrolled urination urges.

Take Tropan medicine as per prescription; it should be taken empty stomach almost an hour before a meal. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water, do not crush or chew it; swallow it as a whole. Keep taking Tropan until your doctor asks you to stop taking it. The dosage varies from patient to patient and should be given only under a doctor's supervision. Consult your physician after a time interval of 3 to 4 weeks.

   — Avoid consuming Tropan XL drugs before taking any laboratory tests. This medicine has some water-soluble ingredients which may increase the serum plasma levels

   — If a patient suffers from a renal problem, consult your doctor before consuming this medication. Tropan XL drug can hurt the kidneys, heart, and Liver

   — Avoid drinking alcohol while using Tropan XL. Alcohol can interfere with the working of this drug

   — Avoid smoking along with this medicine. Smoking can block the functioning of this drug

Contraindications:

Tropan XL 5 mg drug is reported to contraindicate in the following cases:

   — Patients with cardiovascular disorders

   — Active internal bleeding

   — Blockage/slowed movement of the stomach/intestines

   — Glaucoma (narrow-angle)

   — Myasthenia gravis

   — Liver /Kidney disease

   — High blood pressure

   — Stomach/intestinal disease

Dry mouth, nausea, headache, and constipation are some of the most common side effects of Tropan XM 5. Drink a lot of water to reduce the side effects. You may also experience drowsiness, blurry vision, and weakness. Call your doctor if any of these symptoms bother you or persist longer.
