Syndopa CR 25/250 mg is a prescription treatment for patients with Parkinson’s disease. It contains two active ingredients: Carbidopa and levodopa to treat long-term illness. You become slow and steady, your muscles feel stiff, and you may develop shaking or trembling. If not treated on time, it can make it hard for you to continue even with your normal daily activities such as walking, talking, and dressing. Levodopa turns into a natural substance called dopamine in your brain. The natural substance helps to improve the signs of your Parkinson’s disease. Another active ingredient of the drug, carbidopa, belongs to a group of aromatic amino acid decarboxylase inhibitors. It allows levodopa to work more effectively by slowing the speed at which levodopa is broken down into your bloodstream.  

Take Syndopa CR 25/250 mg exactly as your doctor has told you. If you have any doubt, check with your doctor. Swallow the tablet with enough water. Do not chew or crush the tablet. The medicine may take up to seven days to work. Take it regularly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not make any changes in your dosing regimen without consulting your doctor; avoid taking the tablet with a heavy meal. You should not take carbidopa/levodopa with other medicines unless advised by your doctor. The usual starting dose is one tablet twice a day. The anti-parkinsonian drug is not suitable for patients with children under the age of 18 years of age. Do not stop taking medicine without consulting your doctor. It is believed that partial or complete suppression of lactation may occur in mothers during the treatment. However, on stopping the treatment, lactation returned to normal levels. Syndopa tablets may cause side effects that could affect your ability to drive or the way you indulge in other activities. The medicine should be used with caution in patient’s with liver disorder.
