Roliten 1 mg treats the symptoms of overactive bladder syndrome. Individuals with overactive bladder syndrome may often experience problems controlling urination; they have frequent toilet visits. Each 1 mg tablet contains the active substance Tolterodine tartrate, which belongs to a class of medicines known as antimuscarinics. The class of drug is effective in treating overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary continence, frequency, and urgency. The drug should not be given to patients with urinary retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma. Tolterodine is also contraindicated in patients who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to the drug or its ingredients.
Take medicine exactly as your doctor has prescribed to you. Call your doctor if you are not sure about the correct dosing regimen of Roliten tablets. The tablet is available for oral use and should be swallowed with water. Your doctor may ask you to take one Roliten tablet twice daily, except for patients who have a kidney problem, liver disease, or troublesome side effects, in which case your doctor may reduce your daily dose.
Your doctor will decide how long you need to continue the medicine. Do not stop treatment early just because you do not see an immediate effect. Your body takes time to adapt. Complete the course of tablets prescribed by your doctor. Taking more of this medicine will not benefit you; contact your doctor immediately if you consume more tablets than prescribed by your doctor.
Do not Roliten 1 mg if you are allergic to Tolterodine or any other ingredients in the medicine. You should avoid taking medicine in the following applies to you:
- You are unable to pass urine
- you have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
- You have excessive weakness of muscles
- you have acute dilation of the colon
Talk to your doctor before taking Tolterodine if you have gastrointestinal disease, kidney problems, liver conditions, neuronal disorders, heart conditions, or abnormally low levels of potassium or magnesium in your bloodstream. It is not recommended to use Roliten tablets combined with erythromycin, clarithromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, and HIV medicines.
Common side effects of Roliten 1 mg are headache, dry mouth, vertigo, blurred vision, dizziness, bronchitis, sleepiness sensation, diarrhoea, dry skin, painful/difficult urination, increased weight, tiredness, difficulty with digestion, abdominal pain, etc. Speak to your doctor if you get side effects other than these listed in the medicinal guide.
