Ivabrad 7.5 mg is used in various ailments, including chronic stable angina pectoris, Inappropriate sinus tachycardia, and Chronic heart failure with systolic dysfunction. It contains Ivabradine as the active ingredient, which is effective against a variety of heart problems. Ivabrad effectively treats stable angina pectoris in adult patients whose heart rate is over or equal to 70 beats per minutes. Your doctor may prescribe this drug if you cannot tolerate other heart medicines such as beta-blockers. It is also used in combination with beta-blockers in patients whose condition is not controlled by Ivabradine alone. You may also receive this drug to treat chronic heart failure. In such patients, Ivabrad is often used with beta-blocker therapy when beta-blockers are not tolerated. The medicine works by reducing the heart rate by a few minutes. This, in turn, lowers the oxygen requirements by your heart in situations when an angina episode is likely to occur.

The intake of Ivabrad varies from patient to patient. The doctor will guide you about the best time to take medicine, which produces an effective therapeutic response. In general, Ivabradine is meant to be taken twice daily, but as it is mentioned, the dose varies according to the patient’s condition. Discuss with your doctor to get the best dose of the drug. One tablet is taken in the morning and the other one in the evening. The medicines are advised to be taken during meals. Always take medicine simultaneously because it shows the best results and helps remember when to take it. Angina treatment is a lifelong affair so before stopping the intake of medicine, always consult with your doctor. If you find any hard or less effect of the medicine, then talk to your doctor. A large dose of Ivabradine could make you feel tired because your heart rate slows down. If this happens, contact your doctor straight away. The treatment for angina and chronic heart failure is lifelong, so you need to take medicine regularly. You should discuss with your doctor if you want to stop its use. Ask your doctor for further questions.

It is important to inform your doctor about the medications you are taking to date. Give a complete list of prescription or non-prescription drugs and any other disease conditions. This helps your doctor decide and give you the list of drugs and other things that may interact with Ivabradine. Certain drugs can affect the mode of action of Ivabrad, and these include ketoconazole, itraconazole, josamycin, telithromycin, quinidine, sotalol, amiodarone, pimozide, clarithromycin, erythromycin, nelfinavir, ritonavir, mirtazapine, nefazodone, trazodone, rifampicin, fluconazole, phenytoin, barbiturates, diltiazem, verapamil, bupropion.

Like all medicines, Ivabrad 7.5 mg can cause side effects and not everyone using this medicine experience adverse effects. The common side effects of Ivabrad 7.5 mg are headache, dizziness, changes in heart functioning, abnormal perception of heartbeat, blurred vision, blurred vision, light-headedness, and brief moments of increased brightness.
