Phexin 250 mg contains the active ingredient Cefalexin, which effectively treats infections in different parts of the body caused by bacteria such as sinuses, respiratory tract, skin ears, sinuses, and genitourinary tract. Cefalexin falls into the category of drugs known as antibiotics that are closely related to penicillins. The class of drugs works by destroying the bacteria responsible for causing your infection. Phexin will not work against infections caused by viruses such as cold and flu. You must discuss with your doctor why the antibiotic is given to you.
Follow all directions carefully given on your prescription. Your doctor will tell you how many capsules you will need to take to get rid of the infection. Usually, the dose depends on your infection, health condition, and other medicine you are using. For adults, the usual dose is one 250 mg taken every six hours. You should follow your doctor’s instructions when taking this antibiotic drug, as you may receive a different dose depending on your condition. For children, your doctor will recommend the exact amount of medicine your child should take. The usual dose for children depends on the age, weight, and type of infection. Swallow the capsule with enough water. Try to take your antibiotic medication at the same time each day. This helps you get the best effect of the medicine. You may take the capsules before or after consuming them. Keep taking medicine for the period it is prescribed to you. Do not stop the antibiotic therapy even if you feel better after a few days during the treatment unless advised by your doctor. Stopping the medicine too soon may make your symptoms of infection reappear, and the infection may not clear completely. If you miss a dose and are not sure what to do, please consult your doctor.
If you are scheduled for surgery, tell your doctor if you are taking Phexin 250 mg. It may affect the mode of action of other medicines used during surgery. If you become pregnant or already breast-feed your baby, tell your doctor immediately before taking medicine. If you have diabetes, check with your doctor before using urine sugar tests. Your antibiotic drug may affect the results of some of these tests. If the symptoms do not improve within a few days or your condition worsens, inform your doctor immediately.

- Oral thrush: furry, white, sore tongue and mouth
- Vaginal thrush: Sore and itchy vaginal/vaginal discharge
- Mild diarrhea
- Tiredness, dizziness, headache, or weakness
- Mild stomach upsets such as nausea, vomiting, indigestion
