Nebicard contains the active ingredient Nebivolol, from the class of medicines beta-blockers. The medicine is used in the treatment, prevention, control and improvement of the following diseases such as:

  — Chronic heart failure

  — High blood pressure

 Nebicard prevents increased heart rate and controls heart pumping strength. It also induces a dilating action on blood vessels, lowering blood pressure. The medicine treats mild and moderate chronic heart failure in patients aged 70 years or over, in combination with other treatments.

Always take Nebicard tablets exactly as your doctor has told you. If you have any doubts, please check with your doctor. The tablets may be taken before or after the meal with some water. Consult your doctor to receive the appropriate dose of Nebicard. Stick to the dosing regimen provided by your doctor. You should not stop treatment abruptly, as this can worsen your heart condition. Patients with serious renal issues should not take this medicine. Take medicine once daily. Your doctor may decide if you need to add other treatments for your condition.

Do not take Nebicard tablets if allergic to Nebivolol or other medicine ingredients. Avoid taking Nebivolol tablets under the following conditions:

  — Serious circulation problems in the arms or legs

  — Low blood pressure

  — Very slow heartbeat

  — Liver function disorder

  — A metabolic disorder such as diabetic ketoacidosis

  — Certain other serious heart rhythm problems

  — Asthma or wheezing

  — Phaeochromocytoma, a tumour presents on top of the kidneys

  — Heart failure

You should speak to your doctor before taking Nebivolol tablets. Tell your doctor if you have or develop an abnormally slow heartbeat, untreated chronic heart failure, and poor circulation in the arms or legs. If you have serious renal issues, do not take Nebicard tablets for heart failure, and tell your doctor. Your doctor will regularly monitor your condition for chronic heart failure. The treatment should not be stopped abruptly unless indicated and determined by the doctor. There is not enough evidence that the product for children and adolescents is safe or effective. Therefore, it is not recommended for use in them.   

Always tell your doctor if you are receiving any other treatment besides Nebicard. Especially inform your doctor about the following:

  — Anti-depressants such as paroxetine, amitriptyline, and fluoxetine

  — Medicines for asthma, blocked nose, or eye problems such as glaucoma or pupil dilation.

  — Medicines for controlling blood pressure or medicines for heart diseases (such as clonidine, lacidipine, hydroquinone, felodipine, methyldopa, nimodipine, verapamil, diltiazem, cibenzoline, amiodarone,  digoxin, amlodipine,  mexiletine, lidocaine, nitrendipine, etc., disopyramide, propafenone, nicardipine, guanfacine).

  — Medicines used for anaesthesia during an operation

  — Baclofen, an antispasmodic drug

  — Amifostine, a protective drug used during cancer treatment

Common side effects of Nebicard 10 mg include tiredness, headache, diarrhea, nausea, shortness of breath, constipation, shortness of breath, swollen hands or feet, slow heart, and dizziness. If these side effects become troublesome or persist for longer, please talk to your doctor.
