Mox dry syrup 250mg (60ml) is used to treat various bacterial infections. It is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as those of the ears, lungs, sinuses, skin, and urinary tract. Mox dry contains the active ingredient Amoxicillin, an antibiotic that works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-like antibiotic. Antibiotics are not meant to fight viral infections, such as colds and the flu.

Dosage depends upon the child’s age, weight, medical condition and response to the treatment. Hence, the doctor will decide your child’s dose. Give the dose exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The medicine is usually recommended to be taken with a meal or a snack.

The dry syrups 60ml, can be swallowed easily after reconstitution with the provided sterile water. The syrup bottle should be shaken properly before each dose and carefully measured using a measuring device or a spoon. Please do not use a household spoon, as it may give incorrect measurements. The doctor usually recommends administering it either three times a day, after every eight hours, or twice a day, after every 12 hours. It is recommended that the dose be taken with a meal or snack, or immediately after, as this helps prevent gastrointestinal discomfort. If you miss a dose, then take it as soon as you remember. Do not take the missed dose if the time to take the next dose is almost up. Taking multiple doses close to each other can lead to excess medication in your body, which can be harmful.

Mox dry syrup 250 mg (60ml) is contraindicated in those patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or other components present in this formulation. Remember that Amoxicillin should not be consumed by patients who are allergic to the medicine or its ingredients. Diabetic children are advised to use this medication only after their doctor’s consultation. If the child is suffering from a bleeding disorder, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, or liver disease, then discuss such conditions with the doctor before giving Mox dry syrup to the child.
Children who have had past episodes of depression, suicidal thoughts, epilepsy, or any other mental disorder should avoid taking this medication, or the conditions should be discussed with the doctor before starting the course of this medicine. Do not share this medicine with any other children, even if he/she has the same symptoms as you do. Do not use this medication for any other infection without consulting your doctor. In case your child does not feel comfortable after completing the dose prescribed by the doctor, then consult with your child’s doctor immediately. Do not freeze the medicine and store it at room temperature.

Commonly reported side effects are severe abdominal pain, severe skin rash, vaginal itching, hives, vomiting, stomach upset, wheezing, diarrhoea, jaundice, breathing difficulty, redness in the skin, vision problems, headache, and fever.
