Generic Name Halobetasol

Halovate CR 0.05% of 30 gm contains the active ingredient Halobetasol, which belongs to a class of drugs known as steroids. It is prescribed for the treatment of allergic diseases and inflammatory skin conditions. It relieves associated symptoms such as redness, swelling, and itching in the affected area. Halobetasol reduces the action of certain chemical in the body that causes skin inflammation. It is a safe and effective treatment, as advised by the dermatologist.

Apply a thin layer of Halovate CR 0.5% of 30 gm cream to the affected skin area and rub it gently until it gets absorbed into the skin. Apply two times a day or as directed by your dermatologist. Wash your hands after applying this cream. Do not mix this cream with other medications. Treatment should be discontinued when the skin disease is controlled. The topical treatment should be limited to 50 g per week. The duration of treatment should not exceed two weeks patient’s re-evaluation by the dermatologist. The medicine is not to be used with an occlusive dressing.   

Avoid inhalation, ingestion, skin, and eye contact. Wash hands after handling the medicine to minimize exposure. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid exposure. Avoid covering or wrapping the treated area unless advised by the dermatologist. The topical medicine is not recommended in children and adolescents under twelve. Let your dermatologist know if you have concurrent skin infections. Avoid applying Halovate CR 0.05 % if you are allergic to Halobetasol, rosacea, or perioral dermatitis.

Topical Halobetasol may cause a possible mild eye irritant. It is rapidly absorbed through the skin. Repeated exposure may contribute to skin dryness and cracking. The product may be harmful if absorbed through the skin. Other side effects include irritation, redness, itching, and irritation at the application site. Most of these side effects are temporary and disappear with time. Contact your dermatologist if any of the symptoms worsen.
