G Cin 320 mg is indicated for treating infections caused by certain germs called bacteria. It contains the active ingredient Gemifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic medicine that effectively treats various bacterial infections. Sometimes the reason behind the infection’s viruses rather than bacteria. Examples include viral infections in the sinuses and lungs, such as the common cold or flu. Antibiotic agents, including G-Cin, do not kill viruses. Speak to your doctor if you think your condition is not getting better.

Take G Cin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken before or after consuming food. Swallow the tablet whole, and drink plenty of liquid while taking this medicine. Do not chew or break the tablet. Tell your doctor if you can swallow the tablet whole. You may be prescribed another antibiotic medicine. Do not miss any doses or stop taking medicine even if you begin to feel better until you finish the prescribed treatment or your doctor tells you to stop. This helps to make sure that all the bacteria are killed. If you take too much of this medicine, call your doctor or get immediate medical help.   

G Cin is contraindicated in patients with a history of Gemifloxacin, fluoroquinolone antibiotic agents, or any product components.  

It is not known if G Cin is safe and works in children under 18 years of age. Children are more likely to get joint, bone, or tendon problems such as pain or swelling while receiving antibiotic medicine. Ask your doctor if you are not sure.  

Let your doctor know about all your medical conditions, including if any of the following applies to you:

    — Have central nervous system problems

    — Have tendon problems

    — Have kidney problems

    — Have a history of seizures

    — Have a rheumatoid arthritis

    — Have a slow heart rate

    — Have a family history of irregular heartbeat

    — Are you pregnant or breastfeeding

Tell your doctor about all your medicines, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and dietary supplements. G Cin and other medicines can affect each other and cause adverse effects. Especially let your doctor know if you take any of the following:

    — A tricyclic antidepressant

    — Erythromycin

    — A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Many common medicines for pain relief are NSAIDs. Taking an NSAID while you take G Cin or other fluoroquinolones may increase your risk of developing major system effects and seizures.

    — Probenecid

    — A steroid medicine

    — Anti-psychotic medicine

    — Certain medicine may keep Gemifloxacin from working correctly. Take medicine either two hours before or three hours after taking an antacid or multivitamin.

G Cin can cause side effects that may be serious or even life-threatening. Other serious side effects of Gemifloxacin include:

Central nervous system effects Seizures have been reported in people who use fluoroquinolone antibiotics, including Gemifloxacin. Let your doctor know if you have a history of seizures. Talk to your doctor about whether taking G-Cin reduces the seizure risk. Central nervous system side effects may develop as soon as after taking the first dose of Gemifloxacin. Talk to your doctor straight away if you develop any side effects or other changes in mood or behaviour:

    — Tremors

    — Feel restless

    — Fee lightheaded

    — Depression

    — Nightmares

    — Feel anxious or nervous

    — Trouble sleeping

    — Confusion

    — Suicidal thoughts or acts

    — Feel more suspicious

The most common side effects include rash, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, nausea, dizziness, and vomiting. These are not the possible side effects of G Cin. Let your doctor know about the side effects that bother you or that do not resolve.
