Active Ingredient Enzalutamide

Enazamide 40 mg is a prescription treatment for adult men with prostate cancer. It may also be effective in treating other conditions as identified by your healthcare specialist. The medicine contains the active ingredient Enzalutamide, which works by restricting the action of male hormones such as testosterone.

Instructions for using Enzalutamide capsule

Take the capsules in the dose and duration as your health care specialist advises. Your doctor will decide the dose that suits you and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time.

The recommended dose is four 40 mg capsules taken once a day. Enzamide should be taken before or after consuming food. Swallow the soft capsules whole with a glass of water. Do not dissolve or open the soft capsules before swallowing them. It can be taken before or after consuming food. Avoid chewing, crushing or breaking the pill. The course of treatment should be completed to ensure the medicine's better effectiveness. Your doctor may also prescribe other medicines while you are receiving Enzalutamide. Incorrect usage may lead to serious adverse reactions. Do not take more or less than the prescribed amount. You can take the table before or after consuming food. It may take several weeks or months for you to feel the benefit of the medication, but make sure you do not discontinue treatment unless your doctor has advised you to. If you consume more soft capsules than the recommended amount, discontinue treatment and contact your doctor.

You may be more likely to develop seizures or other side effects. Make sure you do not take more than the daily recommended dosage. You should check with your doctor if you have any doubts regarding the usage of the medicine. Taking your medication simultaneously each day will have the best effects and help you remember when to take the tablets.

Things to remember when taking the Enzalutamide capsule

Do not take Enzamide 40 if you are allergic to Enzalutamide or any other ingredients. Your healthcare provider should also be aware of your pregnancy status if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. In general, the anticancer medication is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

It is important for both males and females receiving Enzalutamide to use effective contraception to avoid pregnancy. Regular monitoring of blood glucose may be done during the treatment. Do not drive or operate heavy machines, as this may cause dizziness. There are reports of developing posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), a rare and irreversible condition involving the brain in patients treated with Enzamide.

In case you get a seizure, confusion, worsening headache, or other vision problems, please talk to your healthcare professional. Those taking Enzamide capsules have been reported to have cancer of the colon and bladder. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop signs of gastrointestinal bleeding, blood in the urine or frequently feel an urge to urinate. There have been reports of patients having trouble swallowing the capsule, which includes the report of choking.

‒    Taking medications to prevent blood clots

     ‒    Have low blood pressure

     ‒    Use chemotherapy like docetaxel
