Careprost Plus eye drops 3ml is a prescription combination medicine for reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) in adult patients with ocular hypertension and open-angle glaucoma who are insufficient to a single agent. It combines two active ingredients, namely Careprost and Timolol which lower the pressure in the eye in different ways. Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analogue that increases the drainage of fluid out of the eye. Timolol is a beta-blocker that works by lowering the secretion of fluid within the eye. The combination of two active substances has an additive effect, lowering the pressure within the eye more than a single agent drug.

The recommended dosage in adults is one drop of Careprost plus an eye drop of 3ml in the affected eye once daily. Make sure you administer it at the same time each day. Do not worry if you miss an application treatment should continue with the next dose as planned. Make you do not exceed one drop in the affected eyes daily. Patients should take caution with renal and hepatic impairment. The safety of the product has not been established in children 18 years or less. If you have been prescribed some other topical ophthalmic solution, make sure you use it at least five minutes apart. Wash your hands before using this combination ophthalmic solution. Try not to skip any doses and finish the full treatment course even if you feel better.

Careprost plus eye drop 3ml should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Bimatoprost, timolol or any other inactive medicine ingredients. It should not be used in patients with bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sick sinus syndrome, cardiac failure, or cardiogenic shock. If allergic to any food, please consult your doctor.

The effectiveness of Careprost plus eye dop 3ml in children below 18 years of age have not been established. Also, there is no sufficient evidence from using this combination medicine in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Alcohol consumption is not advisable. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking medicine. Make sure you use this ophthalmic solution exactly in the same way as your doctor has told you.

The most common side effects include itching, burning, irritation, itching, redness at the application site. If any of these side effects persist for a longer duration, tell your doctor straight away. In case of accidental contact to your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately wash it off with plenty of water. Other side effects of the medicine include headache, skin rash, coldness of extremities, blurred vision, visual disturbances, alopecia, gastrointestinal symptoms, dry mouth, paraesthesia, etc.
