|Generic Name||Bimatoprost and Timolol Maleate|
Careprost Plus is used in the management of open-angle glaucoma. The eye drop is made of two active ingredients, namely Bimatoprost and Timolol maleate.
Bimatoprost- It is a prostaglandin analogue, which treats glaucoma and ocular hypertension (high pressure in the eye) by increasing the amount of eye fluid that keeps the eye hydrated. The excess fluid finally drains out of the eye to maintain a normal pressure in the eye. The active agent is also beneficial for growing eyelash hair.
Timolol- The active agent belongs to a category of drugs known as beta blockers, which effectively reduces intraocular pressure (IOP) within the eye. It lowers IOP by increasing the outflow of eye fluid.
Careprost Plus, a combination of Bimatoprost and Timolol, is an ophthalmic solution prescribed by ophthalmologists for the reduction of IOP in patients with ocular hypertension and open angle glaucoma who are not responsive to another single pharmaceutical agent.
