Aristu 1 mg tablet is indicated as an additional therapy for postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer. This additional treatment of early breast cancer is used in hormone receptor-positive postmenopausal women who have previously been treated with tamoxifen for 1 to 3 years. It is a hormonal treatment also prescribed to women with an advanced stage of breast cancer. The film-coated tablets contain an active substance called Anastrozole, which is a member of a group of medicines called aromatase inhibitors, which work by reducing the amount of estrogen hormone that your body makes. It does this by blocking a natural substance called aromatase.
Take this medicine exactly as your healthcare specialist has told you. The usual suggested dose is one tablet daily. Swallow the pill with a glass full of water. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your healthcare specialist advises you. If you take more of this medicine, then you should speak to your healthcare specialist.
Do not take Aristu 1 mg if you are allergic to Anastrozole or if any of the following apply to you:
    ‒   Have not finished menopause
   ‒   Are you allergic to any of the ingredients of the medicine Â
   ‒   Are a man or a childÂ
   ‒   Are you pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or plan to get pregnant. Anastrozole can cause harm to your baby. If you get pregnant while taking this medicine, let your healthcare provider know straight away.  Â
Before treatment with this breast cancer medicine, check with your healthcare specialist:
   ‒   If you still have menses every month and have not yet reached menopause.
   ‒   If you have osteoporosis, a condition that affects your bones. Those with osteoporosis or at high risk for this bone condition should have their bone mineral density checkup at the commencement of additional therapy and regular intervals thereafter.
   ‒   If you have problems associated with yoru kidneys and liver
   ‒   If you are taking a medicine that has tamoxifen in it or medicines carrying estrogen.
   ‒   If you have been told by your healthcare specialist that you have an intolerance to some sugars.
   ‒   if you are using any other medicines, including medicines obtained over the counter (vitamins or herbal supplements). Avoid using Aristu 1 mg tablets if you are already using any of the following medicines.
   ‒   Medicines that contain tamoxifen to treat breast cancer. This is because these anticancer medicines may stop Anastrozole from working properly.
   ‒   Medicines containing estrogen, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Furthermore, before you take Anastrozole, tell your healthcare provider if you are taking medications such as buserelin, leuporelin, goserelin, and triptorelin. These are the medicines that are used to treat breast cancer, certain female health conditions and infertility. Aristu 1 mg should not be given to children and adolescents. If your healthcare provider has detected sugar intolerance in you, discuss taking Anastrozole.
Anastrozole Aristu 1 mg may cause serious side effects, which are given below:
Heart disorders: Women who have early breast cancer, who also have a history of blockages in heart arteries and who take this medicine may have a slight increase in this type of heart disease as compared to similar patients who take tamoxifen. Discontinue medication and seek immediate medical help if you experience chest pain or shortness of breath. These symptoms could be an indication of heart disease.Â

Osteoporosis (brittle bones): Aristu lowers estrogen levels in the body, which causes your bones to become brittle. This can increase your risk of developing fractures, specifically of the wrist, spine, and hip. You may be advised to undergo a bone mineral test before you begin treatment with Anastrozole as required.
