Tugain solution 10 is used to treat hereditary hair loss in men aged 18 to 49 years. Hereditary hair loss, or pattern hair loss, starts gradually and progresses. It contains the active ingredient Minoxidil, which works by preventing further hair loss and preventing hair regrowth. Minoxidil improves blood flow to the hair follicles on your scalp. It works best in men with hair loss or thinning at the top of the scalp. Younger men who have been losing hair for a short period or have a small area of baldness are likely to experience the best results. A man is unlikely to benefit from the product if he has been bald for many years or has a large area of hair loss. It is for men only and should not be used by women.

You may need to use this product daily for at least eight weeks before you notice visible hair growth. Initially, growth may be soft but should eventually become the same as normal hair. Once your hair starts regrowing, you need to use this formulation twice daily for the growth to continue. If there is no improvement in your hair growth after sixteen weeks or if you are concerned during treatment, you should consult your dermatologist. Do not apply the product to areas of the body other than the scalp. If accidentally applied, wash thoroughly with plenty of water. Wash your hands thoroughly before or after applying the scalp solution and rinse other areas that have come into contact with the scalp solution.

Tugain (Minoxidil) should not be used if you are:

   — A female

   — Under the age of 18 or over the age of 49.

   — Your hair loss is caused by drug therapy

   — You have complete baldness or total loss of all body hair

   — The cause of hair loss is unknown, nor is it sudden or unexpected.

   — You have any conditions that have a direct impact on your scalp, including sunburn and psoriasis

   — You have high blood pressure, even if it is not being treated

   — You have a shaved scalp

   — You are using other topical formulations used to treat scalp conditions

   — Do you have any dressing or bandage on your scalp

If any of the above conditions apply to you now or in the past, get advice from a dermatologist before using the Tugain solution. Also, check with him if you are unsure whether your scalp is normal or unhealthy. You should inform your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, including abnormal heart rates, chest pain, or circulation disorders.   

Tugain can cause side effects like all pharmaceutical agents, although not everybody gets them. If you develop chest pain and face/lips/mouth/tongue/throat swelling, which may cause difficulty swallowing, stop using the product and seek immediate medical help. Other common side effects include headache, itching, and dermatitis.
