Rpigat 15 mg contains Rivaroxaban, which helps to treat DVT (deep vein thrombosis, a blood clot specifically in the leg) and PE (pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in the lung). Rivaroxaban prevents DVT and PE from happening again after the treatment. Rpigat is prescribed to a patient with an atrial fibrillation condition; it is a condition when the heart beats irregularly and increases the chances of a clot forming in the body.

Rpigat is also given to patients having knee or hip replacement surgery or who are hospitalized for serious illness and at risk of developing blood clotting. Rivaroxaban is commonly known as a blood thinner or anticoagulant that helps treat and prevent clot formation in the heart, lungs, legs, and brain.

Rpigat 15 mg tablet should be taken as per prescription. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water after taking the food. If you cannot swallow a tablet, crush it to make powder and take it orally with water.

Follow the dose and duration as prescribed, and do not stop or alter the medicine without asking your doctor, as this could lead to a health risk of developing stroke, heart attack, or blood clot formation in blood vessels.

The risk of blood clotting can be reduced by lifestyle changes like eating a healthy diet, losing weight, avoiding smoking, and being physically active.

Rpigat should not be taken by patients who have:

     –     Clinically bleeding issues

     –     Hypersensitivity to the active component

     –     Moderate to severe liver or kidney disease

     –     Undergoing specific dialysis

     –     Pregnancy or breastfeeding

     –     Getting treated with HIV protease inhibitors such as ritonavir or ketoconazole.

Rivaroxaban can affect your ability to drive due to dizziness or fainting. So avoid driving after taking Rpigat.

The most common side effects of Rpigat 15 mg do not require medical attention; it get resolved as your body adjusts to the medicine. Call your doctor if any side effects persist or trouble you. Breathlessness, bleeding, weakness, tiredness, dizziness, headache, and swelling are some of the common side effects of Rpigat.

Other side effects include coughing up blood, severe skin and allergic reactions, swelling, and limb pain; Rivaroxaban may decrease the number of platelets. Some people may develop fainting episodes, dry mouth, and a faster heartbeat. Seek immediate medical help if you develop any of these side effects.
