Ramistar H 2.5/12.5mg is a combination tablet containing two medicines, Ramipril and Hydrochlorothiazide, used to treat blood pressure. The combination medicine delivers the medications to the body exactly as the combined administration of the separate components. Research suggests a decrease in blood pressure with Ramistar H than with Hydrochlorothiazide alone or ramipril alone. Avoid concomitant use with Valsartan/Sacubitril due to an increased risk of angioedema.
Ramistar H is not for the initial therapy of Remistar H. It can be taken before or after consuming food. If the medicine causes an upset stomach, take it with food. Swallow the pill whole with a glass of water. Avoid chewing or crushing the tablet. The usual daily recommended dose is one tablet of 2.5 mg/12.5mg.    Â
Those patients who are sensitive to this Ramipril and Hydrochlorothiazide, other ACE inhibitors, sulphonamides, other thiazide diuretics, or any other ingredients present in the medicine should not take Ramistar H. Pregnant and nursing women should avoid using this medicine. Patients with a history of idiopathic angioedema with or without treatment with an ACE inhibitor.
Combination with aliskiren-containing medicines in patients with hyperkalaemia (high levels of potassium in the bloodstream), diabetes, moderate to severe kidney impairment, and congestive heart failure who are hypersensitive is contraindicated. Also, this antihypertensive agent should not be used in patients with anuria, severe hepatic impairment, or those severe renal impairment and electrolyte disturbances.Â
Ramistar H can cause sudden eye disorders, including myopia and glaucoma. These eye conditions are related and can develop within hours to weeks of beginning the treatment. Patients may be sensitive to the sun while taking Remistar H. Exposure to sunlight should be minimized. If you have surgery and will be administered anaesthesia, please tell your surgeon that you are taking Ramsitar H. Â Be sure to tell your doctor that you are taking Remistar H. Â Â
Side effects of Ramistar H 2.5/12.5 mg may include cough, rash, fatigue, drowsiness, headache, muscle pain, flushing, abdominal pain, flushing, unusual tiredness, tongue pain, mouth ulcer, attention disturbances, decreased appetite, breast enlargement, mouth ulcer, loss of hair, eye medications,  sexual difficulties, inflammation or enlargement of the salivary gland, etc. Â
