Pletoz 100 mg is a prescription medicine used to reduce the symptoms of intermittent claudication and allow you to walk further distances. It contains the active ingredient Cilostazol, which belongs to a class of medications known as phosphodiesterase inhibitors. The class of drugs has several actions, including widening some blood vessels and reducing the clotting activity of some blood cells called platelets inside your vessels.

Pletoz is usually prescribed for intermittent claudication (cramp-like leg pain after walking is caused by too little blood flow to muscles). Cilostazol helps relieve leg pain that develops due to insufficient blood supply.

Take Pletoz 100 mg exactly as your doctor advises you to take it; he will tell you how much of this medicine to take and when. If needed, he may also change your dose. The recommended dosage of Pletoz is 100 mg, taken at least half an hour before or two hours after two hours after breakfast and dinner. Patients may respond as early as 2 to 4 weeks after starting the treatment for up to twelve weeks may be needed before a beneficial effect is observed. If symptoms do not improve after three months, discontinue Pletoz 100 mg.  

Pletoz is contraindicated in patients with heart failure of any severity and Hypersensitivity to Cilostazol or any components of this medicine. Pletoz may not be suitable for some people. You should inform your doctor if you suffer from liver or kidney disorders. Also, mention all the medications you regularly use. Patients suffering from heart problems should not take this medicine. Before you take Cilostazol, tell your doctor if you drink grapefruit juice. Taking this medicine with grapefruit juice can increase the amount of medicine in the blood causing side effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also declare their physical state.

Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription and over-the-counter products, vitamins, and herbal solutions.

Pletoz 100 mg can cause side effects like nausea, diarrhoea, palpitation, abdominal pain, vomiting, oedema, abnormal stool, and flatulence. The use of Cilostazol may increase the risk of bleeding. Inform your doctor immediately if you see a rash or blood in your vomit, urine, and stools. Pletoz may cause serious side effects, including heart problems. Taking Cilostazol may cause heart problems, including a fast heartbeat, irregular heartbeat, palpitations, and low blood pressure.

Some patients may also experience severe allergic reactions. Call your doctor immediately if you develop symptoms of serious allergic reactions such as hives, dizziness, trouble breathing or wheezing, or swelling of your face, lips, and mouth.
