Nintena 150 mg for Cancer Treatment — Trusted Generic Ofev

Nintena 150 is a prescription treatment used for the following conditions:

    — Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is when the lungs become scarred, and breathing difficulties occur.

    — A long-lasting interstitial lung disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, in which lung fibrosis (scarring of the tissue) continues to worsen

    — To slow the rate of decline in lung function with a systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disorder (SSc-ILD). Patients suffering from SSc-ILD are characterised by inflammation and progressive scarring of the lungs that can contribute to respiratory failure.

Nintena 150 mg twice daily reduces disease progression in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis with minimum side effects. Take the capsule two times a day, approximately twelve hours apart, at about the same time each day (one capsule in the morning and one in the evening). Swallow the capsule with water, and do not chew the capsules. It is suggested that you take the capsule with food. You may take them during or immediately before or after a meal. Do not crush or open the capsule. Do not take more than the recommended amount of 100 mg. If you cannot tolerate the recommended dose of 100 mg, you may be advised to discontinue treatment. Do not reduce the dose or stop the treatment without consulting your doctor.

Do not take Nintena 150 if you are pregnant or have previously suffered an allergic reaction to Nintedanib, soya, peanut, or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Speak to your doctor before taking Nintedanib if you have the following:

  • Liver problems
  • Renal insufficiency or if an increased amount of protein has been detected in your urine
  • Bleeding problems
  • Taking anti-coagulant medication such as warfarin or heparin to prevent blood clotting
  • Heart problems
  • Recently had surgery. Nintena may affect the way your wound heal.
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Pulmonary hypertension (a condition of having abnormally high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs)
  • Taking pirfenidone may increase the risk of having nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and liver problems
  • Enlargement and weakening of a blood vessel wall, also known as an aneurysm

Nintedanib can interact with other medicines. Some medicines may increase Nintena 150 and may increase the risk of side effects. These medicines include ketoconazole, cyclosporine, and erythromycin. Other medicines may lower the levels of  Nintedanib and thus may reduce its effectiveness. These are rifampicin, St.John’s wort, phenytoin, carbamazepine.

Very common side effects Nintena 150 mg capsule are vomiting, nausea, pain in the abdomen, headache, rash, bleeding, weight loss, loss of appetite, and abnormal liver results. You may need to pay special attention if you get diarrhoea which may lead to dehydration. To reduce the symptoms, drink plenty of fluids and contact your doctor immediately.

What is Nintena 150 mg used for?

Nintena 150 mg contains nintedanib, a medicine that slows the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (a condition where lung tissue becomes scarred and stiff, making breathing difficult). It works by blocking proteins that cause lung damage and scarring. You take this tablet to help preserve your lung function and reduce how quickly the disease worsens. Your doctor will prescribe it based on your individual condition and medical history.

Who is Nintena 150 mg meant for, and is it right for me?

Nintena 150 mg is prescribed for adults with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (a progressive lung disease causing scarring) or certain types of lung cancer. Your doctor will determine if it's right for you based on your diagnosis, other medicines you take, liver and kidney function, and overall health. Do not use Nintena if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to nintedanib. Only your doctor can confirm whether this medicine suits your specific condition and medical history.

Should I take Nintena 150 mg with food, and does the time of day matter?

You should take Nintena 150 mg with food to help your body absorb the medicine better and reduce stomach upset. Taking it with a meal also helps minimize side effects. The time of day doesn't matter as long as you take it at the same times each day. Most people find it easiest to take one dose with breakfast and one with dinner, but you can choose any times that work for your routine—consistency is what counts.

How much Nintena 150 mg should I take, and how often?

Take one Nintena 150 mg tablet twice daily with food. This means you take it every 12 hours—for example, at breakfast and dinner. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open it. Always follow your doctor's exact instructions, as your dose may be adjusted based on how well you tolerate the medicine. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. Never double up on doses.

Is Nintena 150 mg suitable for long-term use, or is it a short-term treatment?

Nintena 150 mg is designed for long-term use. You'll typically take it continuously to help manage your condition, as stopping and starting the medicine can reduce its effectiveness. Your doctor will monitor you regularly with blood tests and check-ups to ensure the medicine is working well and that you're tolerating it safely. Do not stop taking Nintena without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better, as this may allow your condition to worsen. Your healthcare team will determine how long you need to continue treatment based on your individual response.

How quickly will I notice Nintena 150 mg working?

Nintena 150 mg works gradually, not immediately. You may begin noticing improvements in your symptoms within 2–4 weeks of starting treatment, but full benefits can take 8–12 weeks or longer to develop. The medicine works by slowing lung tissue scarring (fibrosis), so changes happen slowly over time. Keep taking your tablets regularly as prescribed, even if you don't see quick results. Your doctor will monitor your progress with regular check-ups to assess how well the medicine is working for you.

Can Nintena 150 mg cause an allergic reaction, and what should I look for?

Yes, Nintena 150 mg can cause allergic reactions in some people. Watch for signs including rash, itching, swelling of your face or throat, difficulty breathing, or dizziness. These symptoms need immediate medical attention—contact your doctor or emergency services right away if they occur. Tell your doctor before taking Nintena if you've had allergies to nintedanib or any other ingredients. Most people tolerate Nintena well, but report any unusual symptoms promptly to stay safe.

Are there any serious warning signs I should watch out for with Nintena 150 mg?

Nintena can cause serious lung problems, liver damage, and bleeding. Stop taking it and seek urgent medical help if you experience severe shortness of breath, yellowing of skin or eyes, unusual bruising, coughing up blood, or severe abdominal pain. Also watch for signs of infection like fever or persistent weakness. Some people develop blood clots. If you notice chest pain, leg swelling, or difficulty breathing, get emergency care immediately. Always report new or worsening symptoms to your doctor without delay.

Is it safe to drink alcohol while taking Nintena 150 mg?

Drinking alcohol while taking Nintena 150 mg is generally considered safe, as nintedanib (a medicine that slows lung disease progression) doesn't have direct interactions with alcohol. However, alcohol may worsen certain side effects like dizziness or nausea that some people experience with this medicine. It's best to limit alcohol intake and discuss your drinking habits with your doctor, especially if you have liver problems or take other medicines. Always consult your healthcare provider about what's safe for your individual situation.

Which medicines should I avoid while using Nintena 150 mg?

Nintena can interact with several medicines. Tell your doctor about all medicines you take, including St. John's Wort (a herbal supplement). Nintena may interact with blood thinners, some cancer medicines, and certain heart or blood pressure tablets. Some painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs may increase side effects. Your doctor or pharmacist will check for interactions and may adjust your doses. Never stop or change any medicine without talking to your doctor first, as this could affect your treatment.

Is Nintena 150 mg safe to take during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Nintena 150 mg is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Nintedanib (the active ingredient) may harm your unborn baby or pass into breast milk and affect your nursing infant. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, do not take this medicine without discussing it with your doctor first. Your doctor can assess your specific situation and recommend the safest option for you and your baby. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting, stopping, or continuing any medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Are there any groups of people who should be extra careful when using Nintena 150 mg?

Certain groups need extra care with Nintena. You should use it cautiously if you have liver or kidney problems, as your body may process the medicine differently. Pregnant women should avoid it because it may harm your baby. If you're breastfeeding, ask your doctor before using it. People with bleeding disorders or taking blood-thinning medicines need careful monitoring. Those with heart problems or low blood pressure should also discuss this with their doctor. Always tell your healthcare provider about your medical history before starting Nintena.

Which strength of Nintena 150 mg is most commonly recommended?

Nintena 150 mg is the most commonly recommended strength for most patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (a serious lung condition causing progressive scarring). Your doctor may adjust your dose based on how well you tolerate the medicine and how your condition responds. Some patients start on a lower dose and increase gradually, while others may need a reduced dose if side effects occur. Your healthcare provider will determine the right strength for your individual needs.

What should I discuss with my doctor before starting Nintena 150 mg?

Before starting Nintena 150 mg, tell your doctor about any liver or kidney problems, heart conditions, or bleeding disorders you have. Mention all medicines you're taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements, as these can interact with nintedanib (the active ingredient). Let your doctor know if you're pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Report any recent surgery or dental procedures. Discuss any allergies you have, especially to nintedanib or similar medicines. Your doctor needs this information to check if Nintena is safe for you.
