Natrise 15 mg is a prescription drug indicated to help increase sodium levels in the blood of adults with conditions such as liver disorder, heart failure, and certain hormone imbalances. It has the active ingredient Tolvaptan, which raises the salt level in your blood too fast. Low levels of sodium may be caused due to multiple reasons, such as excess body fluids, kidney problems, and heart problems. There may be many symptoms, such as headache, nausea, and confusion, and the individual may need to be hospitalized.

Tolvaptan helps you eliminate excess fluid and retains sodium in the bloodstream. This restores the normal salt levels in your body and prevents further complications such as memory loss. It is still not known if Natrise is safe or works for children.     

Take Natrise 15 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet before or after consuming food. Do not drink grapefruit juice during the treatment, as this could cause you to have too much of this medicine in your bloodstream. Certain medicines or health issues may keep you from consuming fluids or cause you to lose too much fluid, such as vomiting and diarrhoea. If you have these problems call your doctor right away. If your doctor tells you to discontinue treatment, follow their instructions about limiting the fluid intake you should consume. 

Do not take Natrise 15 mg if the sodium level in your blood must be increased immediately. You should not take this medicine if you are dizzy, faint, or your kidneys are not functioning normally because you have lost too many fluids. Also, avoid taking Tolvaptan if you can’t replace fluids by drinking or you can’t feel thirsty. Using Natrise with certain medicines could cause you to have too much of this medicine in your bloodstream. Natrise may affect how other medicines work, and other medicines may affect how this medicine works. Avoid taking certain medications while you take Natrise, as some medicines could cause you to have too much Tolvaptan in your bloodstream. These medicines include:

    — The antibiotic medicine, clarithromycin or telithromycin

    — The antifungal agents, ketoconazole

    — The antidepressant medicine, nefazodone hydrochloride

    — The anti-HIV medicines indinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir, and nelfinavir

Do not take Tolvaptan tablets have renal insufficiency, and due to this, your body can’t make urine. Tolvaptan will not help your condition. Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including if you have any allergies, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

The most common side effects are weakness, constipation, thirst, increased blood sugar levels, dry mouth, and making large amounts of urinating and urination often. Natrise can cause serious side effects, including losing too much fluid and bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract in people with liver disease. Call your doctor right away if you have any of these symptoms. These are not all the possible side effects of Tolvaptan. Speak to your doctor about any side effect that bothers you or does not disappear while taking Tolvaptan.
