Levipil 750 mg is an anti-epileptic drug used alone to treat partial-onset seizures with or without secondary generalisation in adults and adolescents from 16 years of age with newly diagnosed epilepsy. Your doctor may also prescribe this anti-convulsant drug as an adjunctive therapy to treat certain types of seizures. Levetiracetam decreases abnormal excitement in the brain. Initially, the medicine affects only one side of the brain but eventually extend to other areas on both sides of the brain. Levipil is a prescription medicine use for reducing the number of fits. Seizures happen when the electrical signals are not working properly in brain cells.    

Do not take Levetiracetam 750 mg tablets if you are allergic to it or other medicine ingredients. You must take medicine as per your doctor’s recommendations. Your doctor will tell you how and when to take medicine. It is usually taken twice daily before or after consuming food. You must swallow the tablet with enough water. Make sure you do not break or crush the tablet. Talk to your doctor if you are not able to swallow the tablet. Taking too many tablets can increase the risk of side effects. Missing a dose may delay the effects of Levetiracetam.  

Before taking Levipil 750 mg, let your doctor know of all medical condition you have, including if you have had depression, kidney problems, or suicidal behaviour. Pay attention to any unusual changes, especially change in behaviour, thoughts, or feelings. Make sure you visit your doctor as scheduled. Do not discontinue treatment without having words with your doctor. Sudden discontinuation can result in serious health complications. Stopping an anti-convulsant drug in a patient who has epilepsy may result in status epilepticus. Do not drive or do similar activities until you know how Levetiracetam affects you. Do not drink alcohol or other medications that make you sleepy or dizzy while receiving the tablets. Before taking Ox carbamazepine, tell your doctor about all the medical conditions, including liver problems, kidney disease, birth control pills, or suicidal thoughts. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding while receiving Levetiracetam tablets.

The more common side effects of Levipil include nausea, vomiting, trembling, sleepiness, double vision, blurred vision, cataracts, problems with walking and coordination. If these adverse effects are mild, they may go away within a few days or weeks. In case they are more severe or do not resolve, speak to your doctor.
