Fosirol 3mg is an antibiotic medicine taken to kill harmful bacteria that can cause infections. Usually, Fosirol powder is recommended to prevent infections of the urinary tract. Fosirol Powder in injection form is prescribed to treat bacterial infections of the brain, bones, lung, bladder, and kidney.

The active ingredient of Fosirol drug is fosfomycin trometamol, a synthetic, broad-spectrum, bactericidal antibiotic for oral administration. Fosfomycin can negate the progression of a broad range of gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic microorganisms that cause uncomplicated urinary tract infections. It works as a bactericidal in urine at therapeutic doses. The antibacterial action of fosfomycin is due to its inactivation of the enzyme enolpyruvyl transferase. Therefore, it blocks the condensation of uridine diphosphate-N acetylglucosamine with p-enolpyruvate for lowering the spread and adherence of bacteria to uroepithelial cells.

Fosirol Powder should be taken as per the direction of your doctor. Fosirol Powder is usually taken on an empty stomach. However, it can be taken with or without food. Pour the entire contents of a single dose sachet into a glass of water (90-120 ml). You just have to dissolve the contents of Fosirol Powder in water and take it immediately after that.
