Contiflo 0.4 mg contains the active substance Tamsulosin, which reduces the tension in the muscles of the urethra and prostate. This allows an easier urine flow through the urethra and facilitates easier urination. Contiflois a prescription treatment for men with difficulties associated with benign prostate enlargements, such as the strong urge to urinate, double voiding, difficulty urination, and frequent urination during the night and the day.
Take Contiflo exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you have any doubts about this medicine's usage. One capsule daily should be taken after breakfast or the day's first meal. Swallow the capsule as a whole and do not chew or crush it.Â
Contiflo should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity or any other ingredient in the medicine. It should not be used in patients with a history of orthostatic hypotension, renal impairment, and hepatic insufficiency.Â
Talk to your doctor before taking Contiflo tablets. On long-term use of this medicine, regular medical checkups are necessary. Angioedema (swelling due to allergic reaction) has been reported after using Contiflo. In case of severe swelling, seek immediate medical attention and discontinue using the tamsulosin capsule. The product should not be reused. If you are planning to undergo cataract surgery, please inform your surgeon that you are receiving tamsulosin capsules. Tamsulosin tablets are designed only for the treatment of men; therefore, information on pregnancy and pregnancy is irrelevant. Difficulties with ejaculation have been reported in association with Contiflo. Dizziness may occur during the treatment. Therefore activities requiring increased attention should be performed only if the doctor allows.Â
With Tamsulosin, a reduction in blood pressure can occur in individual cases during treatment with tamsulosin capsules which may result in syncope. When you first experience the signs of orthostatic hypotension (weakness, dizziness), the patient should sit or lie down until the symptoms have resolved. Before tamsulosin treatment is initiated, your doctor will examine you to exclude the presence of other conditions which can cause symptoms, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia. The safety of Contiflo in patients with myocardial infarction has been formally assessed. The intraoperative floppy syndrome was observed during cataract surgery in some patients treated with Tamsulosin.
Also, certain drugs may interact with Tamsulosin. These are amitriptyline, glibenclamide, finasteride, and salbutamol. Warfarin and diclofenac, however, may increase the elimination of Tamsulosin.
Contiflo tablets show side effects like dizziness and erectile dysfunction. It can cause dizziness in some people, so you should avoid driving vehicles or operating machines if you feel dizzy. Please consult your doctor if these side effects do not go away or worsen.
