Generic Name Brinzolamide opthalmic suspension 1%

Brinolar 1% (5ml) eye drop contains the active ingredient Brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension. It is used as an eye drop to lower intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.

Whenever there is an increase in pressure within your eye, it can lead to some damage to the optic nerve at the back of your eye. This situation is known as glaucoma. If the situation is not treated well, it can lead to vision loss.

Ocular hypertension occurs when there is increased pressure within your eye, but there is no damage to the optic nerve. Those suffering from ocular hypertension can end up having glaucoma later. This is when medication such as Brinzolamide ophthalmic suspension 1% is prescribed to reduce eye pressure in people and prevent eye damage.

The recommended dose is usually one drop into the affected eye thrice daily. Before using the eye drop, it is best to consult an eye care specialist who will prescribe the right dose.

To apply eye drops, rinse your hands first. Do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other eye surface to avoid contamination. Contact lenses may absorb the preservatives in the ophthalmic solution, so if you wear them, please remove them before putting them in the eyes. Wait at least fifteen minutes after each dose before you wear your lenses back. Tilt your head back and pull your lower eyelid. Hold the dropper near your eye and put one drop into the eye. Gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not rub or blink your eye. Repeat the steps for the other eye as well.

If you are allergic to Brinzolamide ophthalmic solution, inform your ophthalmologist. It is also important to tell them about any bad reaction to other eye drops. Before using this medicine, tell your ophthalmologist about your medical history, especially other eye conditions, liver disease, and kidney problems. If you develop an eye infection or injury or undergo eye surgery, check with your eye care specialist whether you should continue to use the ophthalmic solution. After you apply this ophthalmic product, your vision may become temporarily blurred. Avoid driving, using machinery, or doing any activity that requires a clear vision until you can do it safely. Pregnant women should only use it when it is needed. They are advised to discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

Some common side effects of Brinolar 1% include taste disturbances, blurred vision, dermatitis, Blepharitis, foreign body sensation, dry eye, hyperemia, headache, and ocular keratitis. There may be several other side effects apart from the ones mentioned above. Consult your eye care specialist in case of any serious side effects. There may be several other side effects apart from the ones mentioned above.
