Acrotac 25 mg is a prescription treatment for adults with severe psoriasis. It reduces the red, irritated, inflamed, thicker, and silvery appearance of the skin. The active ingredient is Acitretin, a synthetic retinoid used to treat severe skin issues where the skin has become thick and scaly and does not respond to other conventional treatments. The medicine might not work right away; it may take up to 2 to 3 months before your skin condition begins to improve.

Your doctor may ask you to take Acrotac 25 mg after a meal. According to clinical experts, absorption is reduced if the capsule is consumed on an empty stomach. Acitretin is not a cure for psoriasis. The skin condition may recur on discontinuation of treatment. Most patients notice an improvement in approximately two weeks with continued improvement up to twelve weeks of initiating treatment. The improvement should persist while taking the retinoid formulation. The usual dose depends on the condition of the patient. Remember, do not open or break the capsule; swallow it whole with a glass of water.

Acrotac 25 mg must not be used by pregnant females or who plan to conceive during therapy or at any time for at least three years following discontinuation of antiretroviral drug. A reliable contraception method should be used during the treatment. 

Do not take Acrotac 25 mg if you have ever had an allergic reaction to a retinoid class of drugs or are allergic to any of the ingredients present in Acrotac capsules. Tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including if you have eczema, severe liver disease, kidney disorder, dermatitis, or any other skin condition. You should tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to breastfeed. Acitretin capsules are thought to pass into breast milk. So, your doctor will decide whether you will take this Levoflox formulation or breastfeed. Inform your doctor right away if you take medicines, including prescription and non-prescription (vitamins, herbal supplements). When taken with certain other medications, Levofloxacin affects each other’s mode of action, ultimately causing side effects.

You must inform your doctor if you develop dry mouth, chapped lips, peeling palms, fingertips, soles, itching, scaly skin all over, weak nails, runny or dry nose, joint muscles, tight muscles, dry eyes, and hair loss. These unwanted effects usually resolve if the medicine is reduced or stopped under the supervision of a doctor.
