Ciplar LA 40 mg contains Propranolol hydrochloride, which is categorized under the drug class beta-blockers. Ciplar LA is a prescription drug for treating hypertension. It is equally effective in treating a range of medical conditions, including angina, arrhythmias, migraine, essential tremor, certain thyroid conditions, thickened heart muscles, bleeding in the esophagus caused by high blood pressure in the liver.

Always take Ciplar LA 40mg exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you have any doubts about the correct dosage of a propranolol formulation. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water before meals. Do not break or chew the pill. Do not discontinue treatment unless your doctor tells you to stop. The recommended dosage for an adult is 40 mg two or three times daily, which may be increased per day at weekly intervals. Common side effects of Ciplar LA 40 mg that may happen with this medicine are fatigue, breathlessness, disturbed sleep, cold fingers and toes, breathlessness, slow heartbeat, numbness, and spasms in the fingers followed by warmth and pain. Most of these adverse effects are mild to moderate and resolves within a few days of using the medication. Rarely, a patient may experience hair loss, mood changes, vision disturbances, purple spots on the skin, dizziness, worsening of breathing difficulties, dry eyes, memory loss, skin rash, and worsening of blood circulation.
