Gabapin 400 mg is indicated in the following conditions:

   — Pain from damaged nerves that follows healing of shingles (a painful rash that comes after a herpes zoster infection in adults.

   — Partial seizures, when used with other medicine in adults and children three years of age and older with seizures.

Gabapin belongs to a group of antiepileptic drugs that are believed to prevent and treat seizures or convulsions by controlling abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

You may take the capsules before or after consuming food. Follow your doctor's advice carefully. Do not exceed the recommended dose. He will suggest how many tablets of Gabapin to take. He may recommend a higher or lower dose depending on how you respond to the treatment. This will help you achieve the best results and reduce the risk of side effects. You should avoid alcohol consumption while taking this antiepileptic medicine.

Most people taking Gabapin 400 mg do not experience side effects. The most common ones are feeling dizzy,  sleepy or tired. These side effects are usually mild and resolve within a few days once your body is used to them. Most side effects do not cause trouble and hence do not require medical attention.
