SKU 555
US Brand Name Vasodilan
Strength 10mg
Generic Name Isoxsuprine Hcl

Duvadilan 10 mg is prescribed to treat problems resulting from blood circulation. Each tablet taken orally contains the active ingredient Isoxsuprine Hydrochloride. It belongs to the group of medicines called vasodilators that increases the size of blood vessels. Being a blood vessel relaxant agent, Isoxsuprine is used along with other treatments for certain blood vessel disorders such as Raynaud’s disease, arteriosclerosis obliterans, Buerger’s disease, and cerebrovascular insufficiency.

It works by widening blood vessels to help improve blood circulation to certain body parts, such as the brain, hands, and feet. This effect helps to decrease symptoms such as cold hands and feet, tingling, numbness, and reduced memory or judgment. It may also treat other conditions as determined by the doctor. FDA has found the drug to be safe and effective.

The dose of Duvadilan can vary in patients. Follow your doctor’s advice when it comes to taking this medicine. Generally, 10 to 20 mg, 2 to 3 times daily, is the recommended dose. The dose and how often you need to take this medicine depends on the reason you take it for. Swallow the pill whole with a glass full of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed to you. Take this medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it. Inform your doctor if your condition worsens.

It may take some time for Duvadilan to work. If this medicine is not working, do not stop taking it alone. Dizziness may occur, especially when you get up from a lying or sitting position. Getting up slowly may help. If this problem continues or gets worse, check with your doctor.

There are no known contraindications to oral use when administered in recommended doses. Isoxsuprine should not be given immediately postpartum or in the presence of arterial bleeding. The beneficial effects of this drug may be increased if you smoke. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to Isoxsuprine or have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. If you have any questions regarding this, please check with your doctor.

On rare occasions, oral administration of the drug has been associated with hypotension (low blood pressure), chest pain, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distress, and severe rash. If a rash develops, the drug should be discontinued. Although available evidence suggests a temporal association of these reactions with Duvadilan, a causal relationship can be neither confirmed nor refuted.

Low blood sugar and blood pressure have been reported in infants whose mothers received Isoxsuprine hydrochloride. Pulmonary oedema (accumulation of fluids in the sacs of the lungs, making it tough to breathe) has been reported in mothers treated with beta stimulants. Duvadilan is neither approved nor recommended for use in treating premature labour.
