Sorafenat 200 mg is a prescription drug used for the treatment of liver, kidney and thyroid cancer. It contains the active ingredient Sorafenib, a class of drugs known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors effective in treating hepatocellular carcinoma that cannot be removed by surgery, renal cell carcinoma, and thyroid cancer that can no longer be treated with radioactive iodine and is progressing. It is not known whether the anticancer medication is effective in children. You should not be using Sorafenat if you are allergic to Sorafenib or other ingredients of this medication. If you have squamous cell lung cancer and receive carboplatin and paclitaxel, you may not be receiving this anticancer therapy.

Take Sorafenat 200 mg the same way your doctor has told you. Follow each instruction given on your prescription provided by your doctor. In general, you may be advised to take this oral medication twice daily. Your doctor may change your dose, temporarily discontinue treatment, or completely stop treatment if you develop serious side effects. It is best to take medicine with food at least an hour or two after a meal. If you miss a dose, skip the missed one, and take the next dose as prescribed by the doctor. Taking too much can cause serious complications. According to clinical research, the highest dose of Sorafenat is extended to 800 mg twice daily. The reactions observed at this dose were primarily diarrhea. No information is available about the possible symptoms of acute overdose in animals because of the saturation of absorption in oral acute toxicity studies conducted in animals.

Before Sorafenib treatment, tell your doctor about any other medications or treatment you are taking, including prescription, over the counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc. Sorafenib and some other medicines collectively taken can cause serious side effects. So, tell your doctor if you have taken any medicine. Avoid aspirin or products containing aspirin until or unless your doctor specifically permits it. While taking Sorafenib, do not receive any vaccination or immunization without your doctor’s approval. Sorafenib treatment may be hazardous to the fetus if you are pregnant. Take advice from your doctor before starting this treatment. Use contraceptives for both men and women, and do not conceive a child (get pregnant) while taking Sorafenib. Barrier methods of contraception, such as condoms and pills, are recommended. Do not breastfeed while taking this medication.

Side effects of Sorafenat 200 mg are hair loss (thinning or patchy hair loss), nausea, itching, fatigue, high blood pressure, low white blood cell count, poor appetite, vomiting, bleeding, increased amylase/lipase blood counts, headache, weight loss, low phosphorus level, constipation, shortness of breath, cough, and numbness, tingling or pain in hands and feet.
