Generic Name Clomiphene Citrate
Manufacturer Maneesh Pharmaceuticals

Clofert 25 mg is used to treat ovulatory failure in women desiring pregnancy. It contains the active ingredient Clomiphene citrate, which is ineffective in patients with primary ovarian failure. The recommended dose for the first course of Clomiphene citrate is one tablet for five days. Treatment may be initiated at any time in the patient with no recent uterine bleeding. If ovulation appears not to have occurred after the first course of treatment, the second course of treatment of 100 mg, one daily for five days, should be given. Most patients who respond will respond to the first course of therapy, and three courses should b of adequate trial. If menses have not occurred, the diagnosis should be reconsidered.

It is taken in treatment cycles of five days; you will take one dose daily for five days of the month. For the first course, your doctor may ask you to take one tablet daily for five days. Follow your doctor’s advice. Your doctor will prescribe the best effective dosing regimen for your condition.

Patients should be warned that visual symptoms may render such activities as driving a car or operating machinery more hazardous than usual, particularly under lighting conditions. Clomiphene should not be given during pregnancy. It is still known whether clomiphene citrate is excreted in breast milk. Clomiphene citrate is contraindicated in patients with a functional liver disorder or a history of hepatic dysfunction. It should not be used in patients with hormone-dependent tumours or abnormal bleeding.

Clofert should not be given in the presence of an ovarian cyst, except in a polycystic ovary, since the further enlargement of the cyst may occur. Patients should be evaluated for the presence of ovarian cysts before each course of treatment. Clofert is unsuitable for people with certain conditions and may be used with extra care. For these reasons, before you start taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are or have liver disorders, hormone-dependent tumours, ovarian cysts or uterine fibroids, heavy or unusual menstrual flow, or an allergic reaction to the medicine. You may be asked to take one dose daily for five days of the month.

Side effects of Clofert 25 mg are usually mild. But, you should speak to your doctor as soon as possible if you are feeling flushed, experience a headache, feeling sick, painful periods, breast discomfort, eyesight problems (blurred vision), flashes or spots in front of your eyes), bleeding between periods, feeling bloated, abdominal discomfort and enlarged ovary. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you are worried about them.
