Description of the drug

Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol is the main active pharmaceutical ingredient present in Dronis 3mg/0.02mg tablet. Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol i a combination used to prevent pregnancy. Dronis is a combined oral contraceptive medicine containing the synthetic progestogen, Drospirenone and the synthetic estrogen, Ethinylestradiol. Each film coated Dronis tablet contains 3 mg of Drospirenone and 0.02 mg of Ethinylestradiol.

Indications and Usage

Dronis 3 mg/ 0.02 mg is a combination drug used as a contraception pill, containing a combination of two hormones that is Drospirenone, which is a Progestin and Ethinyl Estradiol which is also known as Estrogen. This drug is indicated to use by women to  prevent pregnancy, used to treat symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder for women who choose to use a contraceptive pill as their method of contraception. It is also used to treat moderate acne vulgaris in females at least 14 years old, who have no known contraindications to oral contraceptive treatment and have attained menarche. The medicine should be used for the treatment of acne only if the patient wants an oral contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help and prevent sperm from reaching to an egg and thereby inhibits fertilization, it also changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body.
