Generic Name Tacrolimus

Pangraf 1 mg is prescribed with other medicines to help prevent organ rejection in people who have had a liver, kidney, or heart transplant, and Pangraf is not for use with medications called cyclosporines. It contains the active ingredient Tacrolimus, which belongs to the class of medications known as immunosuppressants. Organ rejection happens when your immune system identifies the new organ as an invader and attacks it. This medication weakens your immune response and reduces the risk of your body attacking the transplanted organ. It is used along with other medicines to make it much more likely that your transplantation will be successful. It is not for use with sirolimus in people who have had liver or heart transplants.

Pangraf 1 mg is available for oral administration as capsules. Your healthcare specialist will tell you how many capsules to take and when. If required, the dose may change depending on the condition. Take the medicine before or after consuming food. If you choose to take this medication with food, you should always take it with food. Take the medicine at the same time each day, twelve hours apart. Taking the medication at the same time each day helps to keep enough medication in your body to give your transplanted organ the around-the-clock medicine it requires. Avoid eating grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while taking the medicine.

Do not take Pangraf 1 mg if you are allergic to Tacrolimus or other ingredients in the medicine. Before you take this medicine, inform your healthcare provider if any of the following applies to you:

      –     Plan to receive any live vaccinations

      –     Have or have ever had kidney, liver, or heart problems

      –     Are you pregnant or plan to conceive. Tacrolimus may harm your unborn baby

      –     Are you breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Pangraf can transfer into breast milk

      –     You are taking other medications such as sirolimus, cyclosporine, and nelfinavir

Tacrolimus may affect how other medications and medicines may affect how Tacrolimus works. It is not known if this medicine is safe and effective when used with sirolimus in those who have had kidney or heart transplants. Both men and women using this medicine should use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy.

The most common side effects of Pangraf, 1 mg in people receiving liver transplants, are fever, pain, anemia, high blood pressure, headache, shaking of the body, tremors, trouble sleeping, kidney problems, diarrhea, weakness, trouble sleeping, high levels of potassium in the blood, high magnesium levels in the blood, numbness or tingling in your hands or feet. Tacrolimus may cause serious side effects, including high blood sugar and blood pressure. You should inform your healthcare specialist if any side effects bother you or don’t resolve.
