Endace 40 mg relieves the symptoms of breast cancer, such as breast lumps, bloody discharge from nipples, or a change in the shape or texture of the breast. It interferes with the production of certain hormones in the body that are essential for the growth and spread of cancer. It may also interact with other hormones or directly affect cancer to stop its growth.

In Endometrial cancer:

Megestrol acetate is a synthetic hormone replicating the effect of a natural female hormone called progesterone. It helps to relieve the symptoms of endometrial cancer (a type of cancer that develops in the lining of the uterus), such as lower back pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, and pain during sex. It interferes with the production and working of these hormones in the body that are required for the growth and spread of endometrial cancer.

Endace should not be used in place of currently accepted procedures such as radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery. 

Endace 40 is for oral administration; take it as directed by your doctor. The dose and length of the treatment are based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Take this medicine to get the most benefit from it. Please do not increase or use the dose more than the prescribed period. Your condition will not improve faster, and you will be more likely to experience side effects. Since megestrol can be absorbed through the skin and lungs and may harm your born baby, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid taking this medicine.

Endace 50 mg should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to megestrol or other medicine components. The medicine may contain ingredients that can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Before taking Megestrol tablets, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially of blood clots, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, abdominal problems, adrenal gland problems, and stomach or unusual vaginal bleeding. If you have diabetes, this medicine may affect your blood sugar. Keep a close eye on your blood sugar levels; your doctor may adjust your medicine, diet, and exercise program. Long-term treatment with Megestrol may make it more difficult for your body to respond to physical stress. If you develop extreme tiredness, nausea, vomiting, or dizziness, reach out to your doctor. Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of Endace, especially the risk for blood clots.  

Most side effects of Endace 40 mg do not require medical help and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Speak to your doctor if they persist or if you are worried about them. Common side effects include hot flashes, increased appetite, constipation, high blood pressure, weight gain, and increased glucose level in the blood.
