Liofen 25 mg relieves muscle spasms, cramping, tightness, and excessive stiffness in your muscles occurring in various conditions, such as multiple sclerosis and disease and injury of the spinal cord. It treats muscle pain, spasms, and stiffness in people with multiple or spinal cord injuries. The exact mechanism of action Baclofen is not fully known. However, it is believed to cause the relaxation of muscles and the consequent relief from pain. Baclofen, the medicine's active ingredient, improves your ability to move, making it easier for you to manage your daily activities.

Follow your doctor's advice carefully. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Your doctor will tell you exactly how many tablets of Liofen to take. Your doctor may recommend a higher or lower dose depending on how you respond to the treatment. Be sure to take medicine regularly and exactly as your doctor advises you. This will help you achieve the best results and reduce the risk of side effects. Continue to take medicine as your doctor tells you. Do not use Liofen when you need muscle tone for safe balance and movement during certain activities. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine affects you. Do not discontinue treatment suddenly, or you could have unpleasant symptoms. 

Do not take Liofen if you are allergic to Baclofen or any other ingredients in the medicine. If this applies to you, please inform your doctor without talking to your doctor. If you suspect an allergic reaction, please talk to your doctor.

Before you receive baclofen treatment, talk to your doctor if you:

     — Have kidney disorders. Your doctor will decide whether baclofen therapy is appropriate for you.

     — Have acute pain in your stomach (ulcer) or intestines, liver disease, breathing problems, or a disturbance of blood circulation in your brain.

     — Have difficulty urinating

     — Are diabetic

     — Have Parkinson's disease or certain mental illness accompanied by confusion or depression

     — Are you suffering from epilepsy

Older people (65 years or above) or people with a disturbance of circulation in the brain:

If you belong to one of these groups, you may experience more adverse effects. Therefore, your doctor will keep you under the doctor's guidance and may adapt the Baclofen you take.  

For children and adolescents:

Safe use of Liofen in children under age twelve years has not been established and, therefore, not recommended for use in children

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

Talk to your doctor for advice before taking any medicinal product. You should not use Liofen during pregnancy unless your doctor advises you to do so. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding.  

Very common side effects of Liofen are sleepiness, nausea, and drowsiness; if any of these affects you severely, please tell your doctor.

     — Disturbance of the digestive tract, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, retching

     — Tiredness, headache, weakness in arms and legs, dry mouth, uncontrolled eye movements,

     — Sweating a lot

     — Passing more urine than normal, bedwetting
