Rosubest 10 mg is prescribed to lower bad cholesterol (LDL-C) and increase good cholesterol (HDL-C). If bad cholesterol levels are left untreated, fatty deposits can build up along the wall of the blood vessels. This fatty deposit, over time, causes the narrowing of the blood vessels. This is one of the most common causes of heart disease. By lowering bad cholesterol from your blood, Rosubest can slow this build-up in the walls of blood vessels. The statin drug has been proven to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in older adults without known heart disease.

Rosubest contains the active ingredient Rosuvastatin, which reduces in two ways: It blocks the activity of an enzyme in the liver, causing the liver to make less cholesterol, and it increases the uptake and breakdown by the liver of cholesterol already in the blood. This drug is given along with the proper diet to give better results and thus helps reduce the risk of a heart attack and helpful in lowering blood pressure.      

The dose may vary according to the patient's condition; therefore, it is advised to take this medication per your doctor's direction. Rosubest is available in the form of a tablet taken orally by mouth with a full glass of water; it is advised to take once daily before or after having a meal. Take this medicine daily to get the maximum benefit of this drug.

Do not take Rosubest 10 mg if you are pregnant or are planning to conceive. The statin formulation may harm your unborn baby. If you become pregnant in between the treatment, discontinue treatment immediately and call your doctor right away. Avoid taking Rosuvastatin if breastfeeding, as the medicine may pass into the breast milk and harm your baby. Also, do not take this drug if you have liver problems or have allergic reactions to Rosuvastatin or other ingredients in the formulation.

Tell your doctor before taking Rosubest 10 mg if you have liver problems, kidney disease, thyroid problems, or a history of muscle pain, or drink more than two glasses of alcohol daily. Tell your doctor about all medicines you take, including prescription, and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal formulations. It is particularly important to tell your doctor if you are taking medicines for your immune system, HIV, blood, or preventing pregnancy.  

The most commonly reported side effects of Rosubest are headache, nausea, asthenia, myalgia, and abdominal pain. Most of these are temporary and resolved within a few days. Talk to your doctor if they become bothersome or persist for longer. Other side effects that led to treatment discontinuation are nausea, myalgia, and abdominal pain. Rarely may patients experience renal failure and liver abnormalities.
